The temple is known as Shore temple, is a complex of temples and shrines that overlooks the shore of the Bay of Bengal. It is located in Mahabalipuram about 60km south of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This is UNESCO World Heritage site, showcases the Pallava dynasty’s architectural and artistic prowess with rock cut cave temple, monolithic temples and structural temples, including iconic Shore temple, built around the 8th century CE. Mahabalipuram was known as the “seven Pagodas” due to the numerous temples along the coast, though some are now submerged in the sea.
