Objects evolve... just like you and I do!

Some of them have become so integral to man's life that one cannot imagine living without them. However, we tend to take things for granted with time and we soon forget the age-old sewing machine or the old lock and key. We ignore their significant functions without realizing how important they are to our present lives as they are historic stepping-stones within evolution.

Their shape, colour, sound and at times even their brand is so deeply embedded in our minds, that just a glance at them could triggers off emotions, capable of transporting you to a different time in a far off world!!

In this series I have tried to revisit some seemingly mundane objects. I have expressed their importance in our lives by making them considerably larger than life. My sculptures function to represent the importance these objects have upheld in history. I'm trying to make the viewer realize the dominance they have sustained in our lives.

I've sculpted these man made objects in wood, that are seen by us in our day-to-day life, which are visually enticing and serve to engage the viewers into the relationship that might have held with these objects.

I conceptually decided to de-familiarize myself from these objects, by cognitively looking at them from a different perspective. This allowed me to glorify these objects visually. it also made me realize how they have served their purposes in an honest manner, hence, I consider them "Humble" and can barely be recognized by present generation, so "Obsolete."
