Priyal Thakkar is a quintessential Mumbai aficionado whose creative journey is deeply rooted in the vibrant and ever-evolving spirit of the city she calls home. Having lived in different neighbourhoods and engaged closely with its cultural fabric, Priyal's artistic voice is intricately tied to Mumbai’s energy, diversity, and rhythm.

Her academic path began with a BMS in Management Studies from St. Xavier’s College (2005–2008), laying the foundation for her later transition into the visual arts. Between 2016 and 2018, she undertook private lessons in Fine Art (Painting), where she began to blend traditional techniques with her growing interest in photography. A Diploma in Professional Photography and Imaging from Shari Academy soon followed, earning her international recognition through an award from PIEA, USA, in 2010.

Priyal’s understanding of Indian Modern and Contemporary Art deepened through a Postgraduate Diploma in Art History and Curatorial Studies at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum (2018–2019). Her perspective was further refined through a short-term course at Rachana Sansad College of Fine Art, Mumbai (2021), which enhanced her ability to integrate photography and visual art.

Professionally, she has worn many hats—from Content & Research Head at Vama Communications in Ahmedabad to Multimedia Journalist at Feelings Magazine. As Director of Photography for the documentary Lost Heritage, she explored visual storytelling in Sayla, Gujarat. She has also served as a Visiting Lecturer at St. Xavier’s and Head of Design Communication at Innovative Energy Pvt. Ltd.

International exposure in Nairobi, Kenya, as Photographer & Editor at Village Photo Shop contributed to her evolution as an artist and led to the development of her signature style, "paintography"—a seamless fusion of photography and painting. Her creative output includes abstract mandalas, self-portraits, digital collages, and her innovative "Covenant Art" series, which translates lived experiences into therapeutic visual narratives.

Now the Owner & Director of Snapix PhotoArt in Mumbai, Priyal continues to create work that is introspective, richly layered, and rooted in meaning. Looking ahead, she aspires to become an internationally recognized artist, offering her art to both seasoned collectors and first-time admirers, while leaving a lasting impression on the global art landscape.
